From the MIC10 founders comes the SonoDur3 for portable material hardness testing on metals with ultrasonic contact impedance (UCI). Portable hardness testing is typically used in production and maintenance to ensure material hardness of the material. Industrial applications include testing the metal plate hardness of the weld heat affected zone (HAZ) and testing in service parts which may be softened from usage (for example gear teeth). The SonoDur3 is continuously impressing with it’s accuracy and repeatable measurements. German made probes and a modern instrument set the UCI standard.
